The Unwashed Masses
One of the curiosities of the contemporary political landscape is the alliance between the Left and Islam. In both the US and Europe, people and organizations on the leftward side of the political spectrum have been consistently in the forefront of the Muslim cause. The latest outrage in this area is the decision by Columbia University to invite the dictator of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as a guest speaker.
On the face of it, the motives for the alliance seem mysterious. How could a self-respecting “progressive,” pushing an agenda of diversity, tolerance, human rights, egalitarianism, etc., support the importation of a non-Western totalitarian ideology, preached in the mosques and embodied in some of the most reactionary regimes on the planet?
I know what you’re thinking. Both Mr. Moonbat and Mr. Jihad salivate over the downfall of the heinous America and its grand Zionist-imperialist master, President Bush. But yet, I say, Mr. Jihad has a slightly different version of what life would be like after the revolution, and who would be in charge. Would Mr. Moonbat really be happy in a society that is religious, rigid, inefficient, corrupt, drugless, drinkless, “homophobic,” and the epitome of male chauvinist?
The answer to the riddle may be that Mr. Moonbat doesn’t really believe that such a scenario will come to pass. He has enough money to keep the unwashed masses at arm’s length. He may spout the rhetoric of “integration,” but he assumes that they will be channeled into ghettoes, or even entire towns. Sort of like a modern reservation, modeled after the de facto autonomous enclaves that have sprouted up in Europe. Whatever it turns out to be, Mr. Moonbat won’t be living anywhere near them.
Moreover, Mr. Moonbat refuses to accept the fact that cultures can be fundamentally different. In spite of his preaching about differences (“diversity”), he believes that cultures are like restaurants: they vary in taste, look, and price, but at each one the activity itself is basically the same. When pressed on this point, for example when shown irrefutable evidence of chronic barbarism, his fallback position is one of the following: (1) the West is just as bad, either currently or historically; or (2) the behavior in question has as its root cause Western oppression.
Having convinced himself that they will be kept safely at arm’s length, and that they’re really not so bad anyway, Mr. Moonbat can concentrate on the juiciest advantages of all:
• An automatic voting bloc for “progressive” candidates.
• A permanent victim population for the caretaker class, and for hand-wringers of every sort.
• A stick with which to threaten the country (“we’ll have riots on our hands if you don’t expand welfare benefits,” “they’re seething because of US foreign policy,” etc.)
A recent piece in American Thinker had some interesting ideas. Any other explanations for these apparently strange bedfellows?

The alliance between Islam and Leftists cannot be explained in political terms. It is a common spirit of “antichrist” that unites these strange bedfellows. This was prophesied in the New Testament many years ago. People hate George Bush, not for his politics, but for his Christian faith.

There is an alliance between the Left ans Islam because they share a common enemy. The left’s big mistake is thinking they can ultimately control the behavior of Islam after the common enemy is defeated.

Steve and Feeblemind nabbed most of my thunder, but another thought: both of these entities are committed to seizing power by any means necessary, and will use each other (and anyone else) in the same way an immoral man uses a naive woman- telling her what she wants to hear, all the while planning to toss her out like a used tissue after he has obtained his goal. Interestingly, the Left has been hobnobbing with various Muslim nations and factions for decades; while the Russians were locking their own Muslims up in work camps and asylums for holding to religion, they were offering generous aid to people like Egypt’s Gamal Nasser and Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini, simply for the purpose of using them as sledge hammers against the West, and also for a little 3-letter word called “oil”. The International Communist Movement is about the only world faction which actually has much less scruples or ethics than the Islamofascist Movement- as Steve pointed out, a perfect fit for the Biblical description of Antichrist.

Very well written,Mr.Wolf. Dean Coatsworth stated that Hitler as well would be invited at the University of Colombia to speak. Has anyone told him that Hitler is dead?

Reading “The Unwashed Masses”, really cleared a lot of the smokescreen away from the realities of the serious threats to “our way of life” as we knew it.Thanks! As to strange bedfellows, perhaps they are succeeding because most of our population are like sheep or even lemmings. We need to shake people up even more. Maybe a real educational push on the true meaning of JIHAD as a “Holy War” with all its ramifications would be a good start, and then follow up with the history of APPEASEMENT.

The total human world has become a kind of insane sporting event, at which people threaten one another and carry on in an insane manner, something like the gladiatorial contests in ancient Rome. It is madness. And TV largely creates and also plays to that insanity. Everywhere, people and groups look to get attention by getting themselves on TV, often through the exercise of rotten and demented violence, and through the exercise of an altogether aggravated disposition. The human world of nowtime is a lunatic asylum, a soap psychotic soap opera dramatised all over the planet. That absurd opera actually controls the destiny and experience of the total world of human beings. And that collective world-psychosis is, in its root-disposition totally indifferent to human life, and to the world altogether.
Much talk of Christianity on these posts.
Which Christianty?
Whose Christianity?
Certain not the radical teaching and great calling of Jesus of Nazareth which can be summed up thus:
Love the Lord thy God with every fibre of ones being, and on that basis love all other beings as thy self, indeed al “other beings” are thy self.
More like the murderous western tribal ego versus the equally murderous Islamic tribal ego and their “final” long anticipated showdown.

On 9/23/07 John said, “Which Christianty?

More like the murderous western tribal ego versus the equally murderous Islamic tribal ego and their “final??? long anticipated showdown.
John,
First, It would be the Christianity that the Bible describes – Jesus Christ, God incarnate, Third person of the Trinity, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross and rose again on the third as atonement for our sins. If one will believe He is the Son of the living God, and that He died for his/her sin, repent of his/her sin he/she will be saved from the wages of sin, death…eternal separation from God.
Christian’s, as I described above, have been reconciled to God our Creator through the sacrifice of Christ…we are justified by His righteousness, sancitfied by His Holy Spirit, and will be glorified at our death or upon the return of Christ.
Second, Don’t know what translation you’re using or if it’s your own paraphrase, especially the “indeed, ‘al other’ are thy self.” That is not in the text of any reliable translation. I am not my neighbors and my neighbors are not me.
The quote is from Luke 10:27 (27 And he answered, ” YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.” NASB). Jesus had just given his disciples charge to go and preach the good news of the gospel, and a Scribe (lawyer) asked Jesus as a test what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus asked him what the law said…above is what he replied. Jesus replied to him, v28 …”You have answered correctly; DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE.”
Here’s what follows:
29 But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30Jesus replied and said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.
31″And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32″Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
33″But a (AK)Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion,
34and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him.
35″On the next day he took out two [a]denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.’
36″Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands?”
37And he said, “The one who showed mercy toward him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do the same.”
You see, the good news is a message of grace through faith in Christ. The lawyer was contesting that, insinuating that righteous is was by the law, not just the Torah, but all their man-made additions to it. Note verse 29. Jews were forbidden by their law to associate with Samaritans. And what does Jesus do -Jesus challenged him on it by using a parable about a Samaritan. In the end Jesus tells him to “go and do the same.” The “same” what? Be nice to someone? No. Go show mercy.
Jesus again addressing scribes and pharisee, citing Hosea 6:6
Matthew 9:13
13″But go and learn what this means: ‘I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” (NASB)
Matt 12:7
7″But if you had known what this means, ‘(A)I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT A SACRIFICE,’ you would not have condemned the innocent.
Third, please spare us the the moral equivalence. This is the problem with post-modern relativism and denying an objective Truth exists. You are at sea without a rudder. True followers of Christ do not espouse ANY dotrine or principle requiring Christians to kill others because they do not believe in Christ or to bring someone or a people under the domination of Christianity. That is foreign to the teachings of Christ.
And please don’t bring up the crusades, you’ll wander into something you know little about other that what you’ve been fed. With that said, some pretty awful things have been done in the name of Christianity, and yes, during the crusades, but Christianity doesn’t have a corner on that market.
Look, John, I’m not trying to be ugly, but have you really ever taken some time to honestly sit down and read the Bible. What you see happening is exactly what the Bible describes will happen. Read Romans 1, Matt 24-25. It’s because of sin – sorry, man is not basically good. All evidence to the contrary. Man is basically evil, dead in sin, selfish to the core. That is why we need a Savior, to make us new creatures in Christ, a new heart and a living spirit. Only the living Christ can change a heart. Religion won’t do it. Tp those who believe, He is our hope. To Christian’s the Apostle John writes:
1 John 3:1-3
1 See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
3 And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
But, John, Christians also know that we will be hated as well:
John 15:18 Jesus speaking
18″If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
Finally, Jesus Praying – John 17:3
3″This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
